At-risk students who require temporary or ongoing intervention to succeed academically
Title 1 Schools are students from low-income families with 40% or more enrollment.
WIMStrong works specifically with Title 1 schools because this is where most At-Risk students attend. Our resources allow us to combat the title of At-Risk by maximizing classroom student achievement through sports, nutrition, and overall health. We also realize the importance of assisting these Title 1 School communities and residents.
A School, Enrichment, and Mentoring Program will improve students' educational outcomes, school attendance, curriculum students' goal achievements, and social and emotional learning. This can, in turn, decrease the percentage of students that are deemed At-Risk and improve their environments.
We have the privilege of providing these programs and services to Title 1 Districts by utilizing our resources in education, health and nutrition, and fitness, and through the importance of motivation - our WHY! We provide a range of enrichment programs with one thing in common: to WANT IT MORE and a POSITIVE MINDSET.
According to the National Library of Medicine, living in a poor or low-income household has been linked to poor health and increased risk for mental health problems in both children and adults that can persist across the lifespan. Despite their high need for mental health services, children and families living in poverty are least likely to be connected with high-quality mental health care.
WIMStrong has outstanding experience dealing with Health and Wellness, Mental and Social Development, and SPED Behavioral youths. Our results come from the creative and motivated mindset to Want It More than any circumstance you choose to overcome. Our programs cater to encountering and conquering obstacles in these components, and we look forward to providing the same results for all.
These communities are mainly lower-income and minority based, which contributes to students being labeled At-Risk. This results from having limited resources within our inner-city communities.
We proudly find ways to restore or create Sports Goals at Title 1 Community-based Schools by either rebuilding or providing new and up-to-date equipment for students on campus.
One of our middle school campuses asked us to revitalize their outdated wooden basketball goals that many needed rims to attach. This sparked an initiative to serve as many similar schools with the same project. This also teaches our students the importance of rebuilding the community, social unity/bonding, and volunteering to serve a purpose that affects our future.
Children growing up in disadvantaged neighborhoods are nearly one-third more likely to experience obesity as adults, new Cornell research has found. These neighborhoods continue to suffer physically due to limitations in healthy food choices and the lack of fitness and nutritional knowledge.
We provide expert programs and meals for weight loss for all ages. Through our after-school program, we understand that students need additional snacks/meals outside of what's eaten during school hours. With our vast range of food options, we look forward to contributing excellent and nutritious variety and education to develop healthy habits.
Through our programs, the Want It More Strong Foundation continues administering quality and specific resources to combat and bring results to At-Risk students and their environments. This starts with the power to Want It More and change our mindsets. The motivation ignites once you find your WHY, and the transformation begins. We are creating consistency and dedication that showcases overall student and academic achievement. Most of our youth need an additional push that we have mastered how to provide. There's a delicate approach but impactful. So our only question is, HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
